In the Parent Trap, movie directed by Nancy Myers and starred by Lindsay Lohan, they had the challenge of creating a double for Lohan's character, because in the movie there were twins. Since Lohan didn't have a twin sister, they used the magic of Special Effects to create for her one. Below, I will explain what they did in the movie to create this effect, so it may have change now (lets remember that the movie was shot in the 1990's)
First, they recorded in a set that had a blue or green background, one scene performed by Lohan. They edited it and set it in one part of the screen. Then, Lohan went again to the set, dresses as if she were the other twin, and then they recorded it. In the studio, they set a background on top of the green or blue background and then they united the two separate scenes into one, creating the effect that in fact there were two sisters, but in fact it was one.
On the scenes that we see them hug or fighting in the same frame, what the director did was to use a double (being only seen the back of her body) so no one would find out that it wasn't the sister hugging the other one but the double taking part in the scene. For this, Lohan had to act two parts, the two sisters and act them as if they were both real, she had to pretend that she was acutally talking to her sister "which in reality was only an illusion"

this is very interesting and important because we can see with special effects how film has developed trought the years and also the movie you pick "parents trap" is incredible! this is one of my favorite movies

ResponderEliminarThe industry of film each time has new surprises. For example the effects to duplicate people or in this case to cut two scenes and create another that express the end result that they wanted.
