Sepia Tone is an editing after effect used in photography, films, documentals, etc. The main aim of it is to show memories or events that happened in the past, because of the colors of it(a red and brownwish one). They are usually used to make the viewer connect more to he character by having a "look" in his past, while at the same time not confusing him with having the shots with the same color tone, becaue then the scene would not make sense. Gladly, for filmakers like us, this tool is in every editing program created: Adobe After Effects, Windows Movie Maker, Sony Vegas Studio, etc.
In photography the effect is used for a different thing: The photo can trasnmit warm and an antique feeling(you can look at the pictures of your grandparents, then understanding the idea of the old look).
It is incredible because it help to us to recreate a scene that happens at the past and can see as real I means that the picture was taken in that moment of history and not in our times. I suppose that it is a “technique” that is really usefully.
