I will talk about a horror film that was directed by Ridley Scott, and Anthony Hopkins played the enigmatic killer Hannibal Lecter, along Julianne Moore who plays the FBI agent that tries to stop him and the one that, in a sick way is Hannibal in love with. Gary Oldman also forms part of the film and plays the vengeful Mason Verger, a survivor from Hannibal. Along this, Ray Liotta plays FBI detective Paul Krendler.
Most of you will remember this film by one of the finals and most shocking and horrifying scenes I have ever seen, in which they used special effects. This scene is known as the brain-eating scene. In this scene, Hannibal drugs Paul Krendler and opens his brain in front of Julianne Moore. The worst part is that he starts to take out pieces of his brain and then cooks them in front of him. No, wait, the worst part is that he starts to give these parts to Liotta himself, who starts eating them and saying that they are delicious.
Anyway, this effect was created by having an animatronic of Liotta and the “brain” that he was eating was actually dark chicken meat.
Because this film is of horror, they used a lot of artificial blood, in order to make the killings more real and the usage of certain thematic gave the movie an R rating.
The actors did an amazing job in representing the actors and the film locations were shot in Florence, Italy and North Carolina, USA.
If you have a strong stomach, then I definitely recommend this movie to you.
